House Party - this is a great way to educate and mobilize your friends and neighbors about global warming solutions! You can show a film, invite a speaker, or highlight changes you have made in your life to combat climate change in order to spread the movement. Check out our house party guide for help in making your event amazing!

Letter to the Editor - writing one can influence both public opinion and government policy! Your passion about the issue can reach thousands - or more! - of people in a single day. And even if your letter doesn't get published, the news editor will still read your letter, and may chose to write an op-ed piece on the subject. Town Hall Meetings - these events help with public education and political pressure. These meetings are one of the most effective ways to get a large number of people excited and mobilized about fighting global warming

Contact the Governor - Getting Governor O’Malley firmly on our side of this issue would be a huge win for the Global Warming Solutions Act

Constituent Meeting - Set up a meeting with your representative. It is a way to speak with your legislator about global warming in an intimate and informal setting. This is your chance to personally voice your concern as a citizen!

Step It Up Event - Get ready for November 3rd! Step It Up is a nationwide action to ask our elected officials to take the lead on global warming. Meet us in Annapolis, or check out the Step It Up website for events near you!

Postcards - Collect signatures on postcards to be sent to the Governor in support of the Global Warming Solutions Act. Postcards both make a statement to Governor O'Malley. To collect postcard signatures, contact Holly at Holly@chesapeakeclimate.org. Let her know how many postcards you want and give her your mailing address, and they'll be sent to you.
